Orting dropped their record down to 4-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell 18-14 to the White River Hornets. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Norah Fenton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Katie Arnett was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
As for White River, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games.
On White River's side, Laken Elvig was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Elvig was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Kennedy Selander was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Grace Wolff, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Orting will host Clover Park at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Timberwolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21.43 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for White River, they will face off against Enumclaw at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Enumclaw will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something White River surely won't give up without a fight.
