Baseball Recap: Nicholas County Wins Going Away Against Robertson County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montgomery County, Nicholas County was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 17-2 margin over the Robertson County Black Devils. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bluejackets needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Brady Greene made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Greene was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Chandler Kenney was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Jayden Robinson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Nicholas County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robertson County only posted an OBP of .385.

The victory got Nicholas County back to even at 1-1. As for Robertson County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Nicholas County will venture away from home to square off against Augusta at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Robertson County, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Paris at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
