Baseball Game Preview: George County Rebels vs. Pascagoula Panthers

For the second straight game, George County will face off against Pascagoula. The Rebels will challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. George County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

George County was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Pascagoula 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted against the Panthers since February 24, 2018.

Canyon Reeves made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because George County is 10-5 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise. Reeves was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other pitching news, George County got a great performance from Preston McAdory as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. McAdory has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Reeves wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Blane Green, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

George County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Pascagoula, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.
