Volleyball Game Preview: Avalon Lancers vs. Wildwood Wolves

Avalon is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Wildwood is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lancers will welcome the Wolves on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Avalon made easy work of Alta Loma and carried off a 3-0 victory.

While Avalon won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-18, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Wildwood earned a 3-1 win over Channel Islands on Wednesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14.

The victory got Avalon back to even at 11-11. As for Wildwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.

Avalon came out on top in a nail-biter against Wildwood when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
