Recap: Howell Highlanders vs. Salem Rocks
After losing to the Salem Rocks the last time they met, the Howell Highlanders decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Howell came out on top against Salem by a score of 58-48 on Friday. Given Howell's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Salem is ranked 384th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Salem still got an impressive performance from Mitchell Robillard, who scored 15 points. Robillard continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitch Paspal, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Howell has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Salem, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Howell will head out on the road to square off against Northville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northville has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Salem, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Novi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
