Soccer Game Preview: R.J. Reynolds vs. East Forsyth

R.J. Reynolds hasn't had much luck against East Forsyth recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Demons will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

R.J. Reynolds' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Glenn as they made off with a 9-0 victory. It was an even better day for Ruby Ferree as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, East Forsyth got the win against Parkland on Wednesday by a conclusive 9-0. Given East Forsyth's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Parkland are ranked 436th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Forsyth has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 46 goals over those ten games. As for R.J. Reynolds, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5-3.

R.J. Reynolds might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from East Forsyth when the teams last played last Monday. Can the Demons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
