Softball Game Preview: Mathews Mustangs vs. St. John Heralds

The Mathews Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the St. John Heralds at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Mathews nor St. John posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Mathews lost 16-1 to Maplewood on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for St. John's offense. They came up short against Pymatuning Valley on Monday, falling 16-0. The Heralds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. John saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Frasure, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

St. John now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Mathews, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Mathews couldn't quite finish off St. John when the teams last played back in April and fell 15-13. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
