Basketball Recap: Argonaut Extends Winning Streak to Five

Argonaut extended their postseason success on Friday against Big Valley Christian. They were the clear victor by a 73-52 margin over the Big Valley Christian Lions. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won five matches in a row.

Mitchell Mcmahan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was JJ Lungren, who posted 11 points and six assists.

Argonaut was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Big Valley Christian only eight assists.

Big Valley Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Titus Beers, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds, and Titus Boone, who scored 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Nelson, who had six points.

Argonaut pushed their record up to 24-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22 points. As for Big Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.

Coming up, Argonaut will take on Fortune Early College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Argonaut knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 30 contests -- so hopefully Fortune Early College likes a good challenge. Big Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
