Soccer Game Preview: Strom Thurmond vs. Ridge Spring-Monetta

The Strom Thurmond Rebels will take on the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridge Spring-Monetta took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Strom Thurmond, who comes in off a win.

Strom Thurmond took a four-goal loss the last time they faced off against Emerald, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rebels beat the Vikings by a goal, winning 3-2. That's two games straight that Strom Thurmond have won by just one goal.

Anderson Escalante and Eric Rivera scored all three of Strom Thurmond's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Meanwhile, Ridge Spring-Monetta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Horse Creek Academy.

The win made it two in a row for Strom Thurmond and bumps their season record up to 8-3. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-7.

Strom Thurmond took their victory against Ridge Spring-Monetta in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 12-1 score. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
