Football Recap: Olive Branch Takes a Loss

Olive Branch had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it six. They lost 22-0 to the Senatobia Warriors. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Conquistadors were not able to get on the board.

Kylen Reed threw for 76 yards on ten of 16 attempts. Marcus Jamison Jr was his top target, picking up 83 receiving yards.

As for Senatobia, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 30.0 points this season.

Senatobia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deavion Watson, who rushed for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Watson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Jay Irby was another key player, rushing for 35 yards and one score.

Olive Branch and Senatobia will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Conquistadors are set to square off against their familiar foe Saltillo at 7:00 p.m. on October 9. Meanwhile, Senatobia will take on rival Byhalia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
