Basketball Recap: Augusta E Takes a Loss

If Augusta E was riding high fresh off their 68-47 takedown of South Aiken Baptist Christian on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell 69-65 to Trinity Christian on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Trinity Christian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-54 back in December of 2025.

Despite the loss, Augusta E still got an impressive performance from Jude Brouwer, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 17 rebounds. Brouwer has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Quarles, who posted 20 points and five rebounds.

Augusta E has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-9.

Augusta E and Trinity Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 531st) will meet Mead Hall Episcopal School (ranked 220th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Trinity Christian will challenge Coastal HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (456 vs. 119).
