Baseball Recap: Carrollton Victorious

Carrollton took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Cuba/Spoon River Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 5-4 on Friday. Five seems to be a good number for the Hawks as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Carrollton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Coincidentally, Carrollton and Cuba/Spoon River Valley will both be playing Hamilton/Warsaw the next time they take the field. The Hawks will head out to face the Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
