Basketball Recap: Ames Skates Past Lincoln with Ease

Ames entered their tilt with Lincoln on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Lincoln Railsplitters, posting a 56-26 win. Given the Little Cyclones' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Railsplitters are ranked 304th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ames' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Lincoln, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Ames has already played their next matchup, a 73-30 defeat against Cedar Falls on the 18th. Lincoln has also already played their next game (against Urbandale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
