Flag Football Game Preview: Maine South Hawks vs. Evanston Wildkits

The Maine South Hawks will face off against the Evanston Wildkits at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maine South will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Maine South is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Lane Tech by a score of 13-0.

Maine South didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Emerson De La Cruz, Tina Majka, and Gabi Shaw picked up one apiece. Majka has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last 18 times she's played.

Meanwhile, Evanston got themselves on the board against Maine West on Thursday, but Maine West never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 40-0. Given the Wildkits' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Warriors are ranked 65th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Maine South's record is now 22-3. As for Evanston, their record now sits at 16-3.

Maine South strolled past Evanston in their previous meeting back in September by a score of 14-0. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Wildkits have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
