Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blackman). They enjoyed a cozy 71-54 win over the Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet Royals on Saturday. Given the Blaze's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Royals are ranked 171st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Blackman's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Blackman will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Columbia Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
