Recap: Fresta Valley Christian Pioneers vs. Mountain View Christian Academy Conquerors
Sadly, the Fresta Valley Christian Pioneers are still looking for their first win of the season after six matches. They took a 31-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain View Christian Academy. Fresta Valley Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mountain View Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Mountain View Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Eryn Demko, who scored 21 points along with two steals and two blocks. Jocelyn Mengel was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Fresta Valley Christian's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Mountain View Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fresta Valley Christian will square off against Blue Ridge Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Blue Ridge Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Monday. As for Mountain View Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Berkeley Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Mountain View Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
