Woburn Memorial took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Belmont, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tanners had just enough and edged out the Marauders 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tanners have posted against the Marauders since October 27, 2021.

Woburn Memorial wouldn't go down easily and took Belmont into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 28-26, 25-22, 16-25, 15-9.

Sasha Lefang paced Woburn Memorial's offense, picking up 15 kills. Lefang got some help from Lauren Snyder and her 23 assists. Ciara Nee controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Belmont still got an impressive performance from Zulal Merdinian, who had 31 digs and four aces. Emma Miao also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Woburn Memorial and bumps their season record up to 7-5. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-11 Wilmington and 6-7 Belmont. As for Belmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
