Soccer Game Preview: James Monroe vs. Culpeper County

James Monroe is 1-9 against Culpeper County since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The James Monroe Yellow Jackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Culpeper County Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. James Monroe will be strutting in after a win while Culpeper County will be coming in after a loss.

James Monroe is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They skirted past Westmoreland 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Culpeper County didn't have quite enough to beat Goochland on Monday and fell 3-2.

James Monroe might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Culpeper County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can James Monroe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
