Volleyball Recap: Northeast Lauderdale Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Samantha Eastridge and Sophie Wright + How To Watch

Northeast Lauderdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Choctaw Central Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in August.

Northeast Lauderdale started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-15.

Northeast Lauderdale's loss came despite strong showings from Sophie Wright and Samantha Eastridge. Wright had 13 digs, while Eastridge had 19 kills and 11 digs. Eastridge is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Northeast Lauderdale's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Choctaw Central, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Northeast Lauderdale will venture away from home to take on Jackson Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. Choctaw Central will be paying especially close attention to Northeast Lauderdale's match: after Northeast Lauderdale faces off against West Lauderdale, they'll take on Choctaw Central again at 6:30 p.m. on the 30th.
