Basketball Recap: Farmersville Farmers vs. Bonham Warriors
While Farmersville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They snuck past the Bonham Warriors with a 55-50 victory on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Farmers: when they faced off against the Warriors last Tuesday, they had to take a 62-59 defeat.
Bonham's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Heath Brown, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Stewart, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points.
Farmersville's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Bonham, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.
Farmersville will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Saline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bonham has already played their next contest, a 54-33 loss against Greenville on the 14th.
