HENDERSON, Nev. - Las Vegas (Nev.) defeated Basic (Henderson, Nev.) 63-24 on the strength of Trevor Swenson, who tossed seven touchdown passes.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Swenson in the first quarter, the Wildcats were up 28-12 at the half.

Las Vegas grew its lead to 31 points entering the fourth quarter. LV scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Swenson to Andrew Moreland.

Swenson and Aaron Zanin-Banks were an excellent passing duo during the game. Zanin-Banks caught three touchdowns and Swenson threw seven. Zanin-Banks has now caught three touchdowns this season, while Swenson has thrown 23.



Las Vegas' most effective player was Swenson. The junior quarterback threw seven touchdowns. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.

The victory was a step in the right direction for Las Vegas, which was coming off a 21-14 defeat at the hands of Canyon Springs in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Basic, who notched a 35-27 victory over Coronado in its previous outing.
