Recap: Shaker Bison vs. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans
On Saturday, the Shaker Bison faced the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Shaker was the clear victor by a 65-42 margin over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. With that win, Shaker brought their scoring average up to 53 points per game.
Shaker was led to victory by Peyton Hoblock and Jayla Geter. Hoblock scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, while Geter scored 25 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sofia Lanni, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals.
Despite the defeat, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake saw an underclassman step up: Taniyah Monforte scored 21 points. Maggie Lescault was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Shaker and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shaker will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Averill Park at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, they will challenge Schalmont at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
