Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Mavericks vs. Rocky Mountain Grizzlies

The Mountain View Mavericks will head out on the road to challenge the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Mountain View is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Owyhee on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Mountain View came up short against Owyhee, falling 88-62. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Storm are ranked first).

Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain earned a 70-62 win over Ridgevue on Friday.

Mountain View now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Rocky Mountain, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Mountain View was able to grind out a solid win over Rocky Mountain in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 65-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain View since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
