Baseball Recap: Oakman Find Success

The third road game was the charm for Oakman, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Holly Pond Broncos on Tuesday, sneaking past 8-7.

Eli Woodard looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Oakman let Hampton Hall and Weston Burton loose on the outfield. Hall scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Burton went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs Burton has posted since back in April of 2024.

Oakman now has a winning record of 3-2.

We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Oakman's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Berry's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Holly Pond, they will take on Falkville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
