Softball Recap: Clear Fork Has No Trouble Against Marion Harding

After only one run in their last match, Clear Fork made sure to put some runs up on the board against Marion Harding on Tuesday. The Colts were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Presidents. The win continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Presidents: they've now won nine in a row.

Presley Lilly was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Clear Fork got a massive performance out of Hailly Thrush, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Thrush has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kylie Ludwig, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Clear Fork was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Clear Fork's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Marion Harding, they moved to 7-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clear Fork beat the Presidents by a score of 12-2 on Wednesday.
