Baseball Recap: Mahanoy Area Takes a Loss

Mahanoy Area lost against Williams Valley back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Golden Bears came up short against the Vikings, falling 15-5. The Golden Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joe Rick was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Damian Contreras, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one double.

Mahanoy Area's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Williams Valley, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Coming up, Mahanoy Area will host Schuylkill Haven at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Golden Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for Williams Valley, they are taking a road trip to take on Shenandoah Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
