Baseball Recap: Bynton Edge Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bishop Kenny

Columbia posted their closest victory since March 4th on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bishop Kenny Crusaders by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Crusaders, too.

Nolan Slaymaker looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Columbia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bynton Edge, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Columbia's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Bishop Kenny, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will host Flagler Palm Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Bishop Kenny, they will be playing at home against Richmond Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
