With a playoff win on the line, Jeannette rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers by a score of 61-54. The victory was familiar territory for the Jayhawks, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Defeat or not, Mercyhurst Prep got some senior leadership from Tanner Ashton and Alex Manendo. Ashton posted 18 points and five assists, while Manendo scored 14 points and seven boards. The game was Ashton's third in a row with at least 18 points. Trent Garner was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.

Jeannette pushed their record up to 24-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Mercyhurst Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 18-8.
