Volleyball Recap: Orangeburg-Wilkinson's Run of Nine Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Orangeburg-Wilkinson unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks. If the Bruins were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Landsharks when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-15.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 15-3. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

Coincidentally, Orangeburg-Wilkinson and Oceanside Collegiate Academy will both be playing Hanahan the next time they take the court. The Landsharks will host the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bruins will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
