Volleyball Recap: Delta Comes Up Short

Delta was the 3-0 winner over North Fork when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell just short of the Miners by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Delta wouldn't go down easily and took North Fork into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-19, 25-15, 20-25, 15-9.

Ava Martinez paced Delta's offense, picking up 11 kills. Martinez got some help from Chloe Sharpe and her 32 assists. Finally, Martinez was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Delta's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for North Fork, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delta will welcome Eagle Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Fork, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedaredge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
