Preview: Mildred Eagles vs. Palmer Bulldogs
After three games on the road, Mildred is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Palmer Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Mildred's 27-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 55-44 to Rice on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Mildred can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 928th, while Rice is ranked 273rd).
Meanwhile, Palmer's 24-12 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 38-24 to Jacksboro.
Mildred has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Palmer, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Everything came up roses for Mildred against Palmer in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 47-20 victory. Does Mildred have another victory up their sleeve, or will Palmer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
