Baseball Recap: St. Michael's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Michael waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Robertson Cardinals. The Horsemen have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Michael Giesler and Chris Chavez did most of the damage at the plate: Giesler went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Chavez scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave Chavez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Cedillo, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: St. Michael's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.

St. Michael's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Robertson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Robertson beat St. Michael's by a score of 10-9 later that day.
