Softball Recap: Mira Loma Takes a Loss

Mira Loma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 22-3 to the Wheatland Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 28-0 last Monday.

Mira Loma's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Wheatland, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Mira Loma will face off against Bear River at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Matadors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Wheatland, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oakmont at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
