Basketball Recap: Jaiden Woodson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Riverview over Tampa Prep

Riverview played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Tampa Prep Terrapins, falling 66-43. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 550th, while the Terrapins are ranked 148th).

Several Sharks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaiden Woodson, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and three blocks. Woodson has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Enyer Manuel Maria Hernandez, who had nine points and four steals.

Kaii Levy had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 13 points and 18 rebounds for Tampa Prep. Myheir Session was another key player, shooting 42% from the field en route to 14 points and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Riverview and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Tampa Prep, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Riverview has already played their next contest, a 66-58 loss against Strawberry Crest on the 19th. As for Tampa Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-48 win against Durant on the 19th.
