Football Game Preview: Falkville Blue Devils vs. Vincent Yellow Jackets + Official Tickets

The Falkville Blue Devils will square off against the Vincent Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Vincent will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Falkville extended their winning streak to six on Thursday. The Blue Devils blew past Winston County 42-14. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-0.

Brodie Bennett was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 103 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and one score. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 60 yards. Samuel Jacobs was another key player, throwing for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

Falkville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Esteban Rendon and Jaxon Stringer. Rendon has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, Vincent humbled Montevallo with a 47-19 victory. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Yellow Jackets had established a 22-point advantage.

Vincent's win came from a few key players Falkville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayden Roberts, who rushed for 125 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Archer, who gained 153 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vincent was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 262 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Falkville's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Vincent, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 8-2.
