Basketball Game Preview: Peoria Lions vs. East Peoria Raiders

The Peoria Lions will head out to challenge the East Peoria Raiders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Peoria is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 56-55 win over Centennial. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their 21-point performance the game before.

Meanwhile, East Peoria hadn't done well against Pekin recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. East Peoria walked away with a 53-46 victory over Pekin. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Peoria's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-24. As for East Peoria, their record now sits at 15-16.

Peoria was taken down by East Peoria 65-33 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Peoria avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
