Basketball Recap: Twin Peaks Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Twin Peaks Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 40-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Loveland Classical Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 28-18 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Twin Peaks Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Kaleigh Van Pelt, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 blocks. The dominant performance gave Van Pelt a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Zeh, who posted six points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.

Loveland Classical's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keira Doan, who had 15 points in addition to five steals and three blocks. Doan is becoming a predictor of Loveland Classical's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 4-1 (and 5-6 when she doesn't). Gracie Saxton was another key player, putting up four points along with eight boards and eight steals.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Loveland Classical, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy has already played their next game, a 71-43 loss against Weldon Valley on the 13th. As for Loveland Classical, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 44-21 defeat against Heritage Christian on the 13th.
