Baseball Game Preview: Hunter Wolverines vs. Granger Lancers

For the second straight game, Hunter will face off against Granger. The Wolverines will face off against the Lancers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hunter has given up an average of 12.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hunter is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They had just enough and edged out Granger 16-14. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolverines as it put an end to their 16-game losing streak.

Trace Vaccaro was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Hunter is 2-1 when Vaccaro posts two or more runs, but 0-17 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Kendall, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Hunter hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Granger is on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17. As for Hunter, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-15 and their overall record up to 2-18.
