Basketball Game Preview: New Bremen Cardinals vs. St. Henry Redskins

The New Bremen Cardinals will challenge the St. Henry Redskins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, New Bremen came up short against Coldwater and fell 61-49. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 154th).

Meanwhile, St. Henry earned a 48-38 win over Memorial on Saturday.

New Bremen better keep an eye on Charlie Werling. He was instrumental in St. Henry's win, going 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Werling a new career-high in assists (three). Brody Schwartz was another key player, putting up three points and 12 boards.

St. Henry has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. As for New Bremen, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-12.

New Bremen came up short against St. Henry in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 56-49. Can New Bremen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
