Softball Recap: Maysville Comes Up Short

Maysville managed to slip by Fairfield Union the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers lost 14-4 to the Falcons on Friday. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Ayven Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two doubles. Sophie Dennis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Maysville's record now sits at 2-10. As for Fairfield Union, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.

Coming up, Maysville will head out to take on Sheridan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fairfield Union, they will host New Lexington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
