Softball Game Preview: Butler County Bears vs. Trinity Raiders

Butler County and Trinity are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Bears will head out to challenge the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Butler County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

On Monday, Butler County came up short against Bowling Green and fell 12-8.

Meanwhile, Trinity was able to grind out a solid victory over Butler County on Tuesday, taking the game 8-3. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

Trinity's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Butler County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-21 record this season.

Butler County couldn't quite get it done against Trinity in their previous meeting on Tuesday as they fell 8-3. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
