Baseball Game Preview: West Scranton Invaders vs. Valley View Cougars

The West Scranton Invaders are taking a road trip to face off against the Valley View Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. West Scranton is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Friday, West Scranton didn't have quite enough to beat Wallenpaupack Area and fell 4-3.

West Scranton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Walsh, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Valley View posted their closest win since May 1, 2024 on Wednesday. They skirted past Scranton Prep 4-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

West Scranton's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Valley View, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5.

West Scranton came out on top in a nail-biter against Valley View when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Invaders repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
