Softball Recap: Triton Central Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Triton Central won the last time they faced Indianapolis Scecina Memorial and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers blew past the Crusaders 19-1. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by ten runs or more this season.

Madi Peterson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Triton Central let Ashlyn Hittle and Jayda McKee run wild. Hittle went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs, while McKee went 4-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Jalynn Keith was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs.

Triton Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indianapolis Scecina Memorial only posted an OBP of .167.

Triton Central pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
