Football Recap: Belvidere Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Belvidere and Jefferson had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bucs took a 27-12 bruising from the J-Hawks on Friday. The Bucs were not able to make up for their defeat to the J-Hawks from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Belvidere lost, don't look at Mario Beasley. Despite the final result, he rushed for 72 yards and a pair of TDs. Beasley got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 59 yards. Belvidere also got a significant boost from Nic Alvarez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.

Belvidere's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Jefferson, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belvidere will take on Rockford Auburn at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bucs will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Jefferson, they will square off against Freeport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The J-Hawks are facing the Pretzels at the right time seeing as the Pretzels are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
