Basketball Recap: Caldwell Drops Highest Score of Season Against Udall

Caldwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 62-51 to the Udall Eagles. One positive for the Bluejays, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Caldwell had strong showings from Mak Blosser, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, and Colt Schmidt, who posted nine points and five rebounds. Those nine rebounds gave Blosser a new career-high. Zak Eaton was another key player, putting up six points.

Udall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Johnson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Jordan Hornecker, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points along with five assists and three blocks.

Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Udall, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Caldwell will be playing at home against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Caldwell surely won't give up without a fight. As for Udall, they will head out on the road to face off against Flinthills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Flinthills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.
