Basketball Recap: Cholla Takes a Loss

Cholla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 29th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Douglas Bulldogs 94-20. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 41st).

Renatta Othon was a one-woman wrecking crew for Douglas as she dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Othon a new career-high in steals. Carolina Anguiano was another key player, going 7 of 15 on her way to 19 points along with five boards and three steals.

Cholla's defeat dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Douglas, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-3.

Coming up, Cholla will venture away from home to challenge Marana at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Douglas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
