Basketball Game Preview: Concord Christian Academy Minutemen vs. Greenwood Mennonite Flames

Concord Christian Academy is 0-7 against Greenwood Mennonite since January of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m.

Concord Christian Academy can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Friday. They took a 35-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Faith Baptist School. The Minutemen's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it nine in a row dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Greenwood Mennonite made easy work of Seaside Christian Academy on Monday and carried off a 41-21 win. The Flames have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 20 points or more this season.

Greenwood Mennonite's win came from a few key players Concord Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emily Kirk, who posted eight points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Chloe Hibbs was another key player, putting up six points along with seven boards and three blocks.

Greenwood Mennonite smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
