Basketball Recap: Knightstown Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Knightstown had won three straight games and Anna Roberson did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Knightstown Panthers came out on top against the Union City Indians by a score of 58-48 thanks in part to Roberson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. The match was her third in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Halleigh Lacey, who posted 15 points in addition to five assists and five boards. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Union City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Oaklee Reichard, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 13 points along with four blocks and three steals. Reichard has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Campbell Kerns, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 17 points.

Knightstown's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Union City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightstown and Eastern Hancock will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Union City will take on Winchester Community in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
