Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) will open its season in Texas in 2016.
According to Matt Wixon of the Dallas Morning News, Bishop Gorman and
Cedar Hill (Texas) have confirmed that the two teams will meet for the season opener in the Dallas area. The game is expected to be televised on ESPN.
And that's not all.
According to Bishop Gorman coach Kenny Sanchez, the Gaels are also hoping to play
Allen (Texas) in the second week of the season.
"A team coming to Texas two weeks in a row," Sanchez told the Dallas Morning News. "I don't know if that's ever happened."
Bishop Gorman will have one of its most talented teams in 2016.

Bishop Gorman is coming off a 15-0 season in which it beat out-of-state powerhouses like Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.), Long Beach Poly (Calif.), Chandler (Ariz.), Bingham (South Jordan, Utah), Bellevue (Wash.) and Servite (Anaheim, Calif.). The Gaels were ranked No. 4 overall in the Xcellent 25 Rankings.
Playing out-of-state opponents is not uncommon for the Las Vegas school. In 2014, Bishop Gorman defeated St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) and Centennial (Corona, Calif.). In 2013, it knocked off Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.), but lost to Booker T. Washington (Miami). The loss to Washington is the last for the Gaels, who have won 39 straight games.

St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale). If it all comes together, it would most likely be the most challenging single-season schedules in high school football history.

Biaggio Walsh (RB),
Tyjon Lindsey (WR), and
Haskell Garrett (DL).
Cedar Hill went 9-2 last year after winning back-to-back state championships, Class 5A in 2013 and Class 6A-II 2014. According to the Dallas Morning News, Cedar Hill is expected to have one of its most talented teams in 2016.
Allen, meanwhile, had a 57-game win streak snapped in the Class 6A-I state semifinals. The Eagles also recently lost their coach Tom Westerberg, who resigned to take a job at Barbers Hill. According to Wixon, the Allen-Bishop Gorman game won't be finalized until a new head coach has been hired.
