Softball Recap: Johnson Central Takes a Loss

Johnson Central lost against Rowan County back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Golden Eagles fell 9-5 to the Vikings.

Adyson Burchett was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Mayson Delong was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Johnson Central's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Rowan County, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-3.

Looking ahead, Johnson Central will square off against Harrison County at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Thorobreds/Fillies' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Golden Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rowan County, they will take on Warren East at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
